Donald E. Texada, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Donald Texada is a graduate of Louisiana College. His medical training includes a medical degree from Louisiana State University of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana, and an internship and residency in ophthalmology at Louisiana State University in Shreveport. He received a Heed fellowship in glaucoma and pediatric ophthalmology. His postgraduate studies were in macula and retinal disease at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute and Cornell University Medical Center.
Dr. Texada is board certified in ophthalmology and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Texada is Louisiana State Councillor for the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and past president for the Louisiana State Ophthalmology Association. He is the acting chairperson for the ophthalmology department at Louisiana State University in Shreveport and past chief of ophthalmology at Christus Schumpert.
Dr. Texada is a charter member of the American Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology, a member of Heed Society for Ophthalmology, Costenbader Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology and a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. |
