Dr. F. Randall Kirchner is a graduate of the LSU Medical School in New Orleans. His internship was at the University of Kentucky Medical School in Lexington, Kentucky. He served as an officer in the U.S. Navy Medical Corp from 1969 – 1971, spending two years in Vietnam with the U.S. Marine Corp.
Dr. Kirchner completed his residency in ophthalmology at LSU Medical Center Shreveport in 1974 and his fellowship in retinal disease at the Presbyterian Hospital University of the Pacific in San Francisco, California, in 1975.
Dr. Kirchner has practiced comprehensive ophthalmology in the Shreveport-Bossier area since 1975, and he is a Clinical Associate Professor of the Ophthalmology Department at LSUHSC Shreveport. He is Board-certified in ophthalmology, and he is married with three children and four grandchildren.
