Refractive Surgery Evaluation (LASIK and PRK)
The physician will do a number of tests to determine if you are a good candidate for the procedure. Tests will include:
- Topography, to determine any irregularities of the cornea.
- Pachymetry, to determine the thickness of the cornea.
- Refraction, to determine the exact amount of correction needed.
How do I prepare for my Refractive Surgery Evaluation?
- Soft contact wearers must be out of their lenses a minimum of two weeks prior to the evaluation.
- Hard or Gas Permeable contact wearers must be out of their lenses a minimum of one month prior to the evaluation.
- You will be dilated and the dilation will last approximately 48 hours, you may need a driver.
- Wear your present glasses.
