Pediatric Eye Exam
During this exam we will evaluate the child's visual acuity, record any abnormalities in ocular alignment and look for any external or internal disease.
The patient may be dilated. In cases where the patient is dilated, they will be light sensitive for several hours. The patient will receive a glasses prescription if correction is needed. This eye exam varies depending on the patient's mental and emotional development.
How do I prepare for my child's Pediatric Eye Exam?
- If possible talk to your child about the eye doctor and what to expect.
- Let them know to expect bright lights, eye drops, and unique looking machines.
- Bring a list of any medicines your child is currently taking.
